Before I begin my late autumn work in the woodlot behind the studio, I always collect a small pile of woodlot litter and set it afire. The old enameled coffee pot is then placed downwind of the small blaze to softly brew and be flavored with wood smoke. The coffee will be ready about the time I break a sweat and need something warm to take the chill off when I take a rest.
