Some of the most memorable time spent on a trout stream is not always in the active pursuit of fish. Often, it’s the time spent waiting for a late evening hatch to begin and the lowering of evening upon the landscape. Things quiet down, the air becomes cooler, colors soften, and the water reflects a forest which has become stained glass.
And, then from upstream in the darkness, comes the first faint sound of rising fish.
